battle with cancer at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. He was

Charles Bernard King died Saturday, Aug. 30 after a lengthy battle with cancer at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. He was 51.

He is survived by his wife Jane King of Red Oak, Iowa; children John R., Jacob B., and Janelle R. all of Red Oak, Iowa; his mother Maxine King of Shenandoah, Iowa; sister Jeanne (Darrell) DeRosa of Hollister; father and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson of Clarinda, Iowa, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Essex, Iowa. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery. Military graveside rites by the Weatherall-Hadden-Holmes Post No. 333 of the American Legion. Rev. Gregory J. Hanneman will officiate.

A visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
