Pastura “Pat” Bagood died at home in Gilroy on Tuesday, Oct. 28 following a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Julio Bagood.

Pat was born in Walalua, Oahu, Hawaii, 80 years ago. She moved to California in 1926 and to the Gilroy area in the 1940s and has lived there since. She worked at the Filice and Perrelli Cannery in San Martin for Driscolls and then spent 24 years at IBM as an administrative assistant.

Pat was a founding member of the Fil-Am Senior Center in Gilroy and was a member of the Vasayan Trust. She enjoyed traveling in her R.V. with her husband and was an avid seashell collector.

She is survived by her daughter Camille L. Bagood of Gilroy; her grandchildren Rachel Bagood,of Santa Maria, Kathy Bagood of Santa Barbara, Elizabeth Bagood of Santa Maria, Alicia Bagood of Fresno, and Phillip Bagood of Santa Maria; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her adopted family Paul and Barbara Mirelez Family.

She was preceded in death by her son Phillip Bagood and her granddaughters Corrina Bagood and Elaine Bilstad.

Viewing will begin Sunday Nov. 2 at 2p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home with a vigil service being prayed at 5 p.m. The funeral service will begin Monday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Mary’s Church for a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Gilroy.
