Re: Orabuena trial a showcase of unfairness, Nov. 4.
Fairness, like beauty, is probably in the eye of the beholder
and like beauty cannot be tried in a court of law.
Broken laws can be tried in a courtroom presided over by a judge
who listens to cases presented by the opposing attorneys and where
the ultimate decision rests with the jury.

I have always believed that a death, accidental or otherwise, is a serious event. I also believe that our legal system exists for the protection and health of the community. The community needs to know the truth concerning this fatality. The only way truth can be known is by a trial.
This newspaper fails to serve the community when it assumes the duty of the legal system and establishes a trial by newsprint.
