Long-time Gilroy resident
Long-time Gilroy resident David Sanches died Oct. 21, 2002 at his daughter’s home in Morgan Hill. He was 79.

Mr. Sanches had lived in Gilroy for 65 years. He was self-employed as a water systems and farm equipment installer and was also a walnut farmer. He enjoyed trains, traveling, motor mechanics and working.

He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne M. Sanches and Deborah J. Sanches, both of Morgan Hill; his sister, Mary Dolores Sanches of Gilroy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R. Sanches.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Forest St. in Gilroy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.

Memorials are preferred to the Jehovah’s Witnesses or the American Cancer Society.
