Mavis Eglinton

Gilroy resident Mavis Eglinton died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002 in Fontana while visiting her children and grandchildren. She was 56.

Mrs. Eglinton was born in Inglewood and lived in Southern California until she moved to Gilroy in 1993. She worked as a customer service representative at Cidco until it closed and more recently with Elephant Books.com.

She was a lover of animals, particularly cats and dogs, and groomed them professionally and for friends. She was also an original Oakland Raiders fan.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Eglinton of Gilroy; her children, Nicholas Eglinton of Fontana, Tyson Eglinton and his wife Linda of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Leslie Porche and her husband Eddie of Fontana; her brother, Ross Worboys of Redwood City; her stepmother, Barbara Worboys of Trenton, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.

Memorials are preferred to the Santa Cruz Hospice Caring Project or the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center of Morgan Hill.
