San Benito and Santa Clara County families are invited to talk about college at San Benito High School this evening.
South County Cal-SOAP – a group that prepares low-income and first-generation students for college – is hosting its fourth annual College Fair from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the San Benito High School gym.
“We sincerely appreciate the continued support from our local school districts and from our higher education partners, Gavilan Community College, CSU Monterey Bay, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford University and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation,” said Erin C. Gemar, the project director for the South County Cal-SOAP Consortium, in a press release. “The recent success of Cal-SOAP graduates and their college-going rate is a direct reflection of their support.”
South County Cal-SOAP serves students and parents from in the Aromas-San Juan, Gilroy, Hollister and Morgan Hill School districts.
No reservations are required to attend the event, which is open to all community members. Student attendees who fill out evaluations of the event will have an opportunity to win prizes. For more information, call the South County Cal-SOAP Office at (408) 846-7504.
