Kendra always strived to be the best at everything she did, growing up in Morgan Hill and throughout her life. An excellent student, she was also an avid participant in many clubs and sports: 4H, soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming, and track and field. In addition, she played the clarinet, trumpet, and saxophone all through high school, traveling extensively with the Live Oak Emerald Regime marching band. In San Luis Obispo she enjoyed intramural sports and traveling with the ski club, while earning a degree in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly.
She worked and traveled after college, but Kendra came to choose a simple life, focused on nature, love and spiritual growth. Most recently she lived in Grass Valley, spending time with her animals and many friends, swimming in the Yuba River, and counseling teens — a fitting job for someone who cared so much about others.
Kendra battled breast cancer for the past three years, eventually staying with her parents, Bob and Linda Banks, for love and support. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy Navasero and Kevin Banks, and their spouses Anthony and Courtney; her nieces and nephews Miles, Amanda, Justin, Aidan, Dylan, Julia, and Nicholas; as well as by her loving friends and devoted caregivers, Tom Haviland and Nick Lynch.
