of 79.
Aileen “Connie” Freiermuth Gaiser passed away in Hollister on May 19 at the age of 79.

A native of Kansas, Connie was raised in Yakima, Wash. and graduated from Washington State University as a language major in French and Spanish. She put her teaching credential to use teaching at San Benito High School when she first moved to Hollister until the arrival of her first son. She met her first husband, George J. Freiermuth, while a student at WSU. They celebrated 40 years of married life until he died in June 1986. Connie was a Cub Scout leader, an American Red Cross Volunteer, a member of Hollister Womens Club, Kinship, formerly the Childrens Home Society and the Ridgemark Tennis Club. She was an original shareholder of Ridgemark Golf & Country Club. She was a avid sports enthusiast, Bridge player and reader, consuming at least 6 mystery books a week.

“A immaculate housekeeper” her family said. She was also a rancher in the Comstock area of Hollister with her late husband, raising walnuts, as well as a bookkeeper at his Hollister Veterinary Clinic on Sunnyslope Road. “Spending time out-of-doors fly-fishing on the Klamath River with George and being able to travel with him to all continents of the world made her especially happy,” her children said.

Later on in her life, she married William Gaiser who passed away last year.

Survivors are her children Jay Peter Freiermuth of Capitola, John J. Freiermuth and George Anthony Freiermuth of Hollister; grandchildren Ava and Max Freiermuth of Hollister; cousin Janet Lahey of Huntington Beach.

As per her wishes, arrangements have been made for private cremation and inurnment.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration of Connie’s life on Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St. Donations are preferred to American Red Cross or Cancer Society c/o the mortuary chapel.
