Lifelong county resident
Lifelong county resident Alfonso T. Orosco died Friday, April 4, 2003 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 90.

Mr. Orosco was born in New Idria and attended local schools. He was a retired warehouse supervisor who worked for several local canneries for more than 45 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hollister and the Bolado Park Golf Club.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Albert A. and Rosemary Orosco of Hollister; his brothers, Ray Orosco of Fresno and Luis Orosco of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, in 1964; his brothers, Tom and Robert Orosco; his sister, Josephine Altamirano; and his grandson, Bryan Barnes.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital.
