Alfred Charles Settrini, 94, of Gilroy, peacefully passed away August 16, 2011.

Born May 28, 1917 in Santa Cruz, CA to Bartolomeo and Adelina Settrini. Alfred was raised and schooled in Gilroy, later working as a carpenter, and retiring from the Gilroy Unified School District. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post 6309 in Gilroy, past president of CSEA, a former member of the Gilroy Auxillary Police, and also a member of the Live Oak Band Boosters Club in Morgan Hill.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1937, retiring as a Sergeant at the end of WWII in 1945.

Alfred is survived by Maxine, his wife of over 70 years, and his children, Alfred W. Settrini of Kansas, Barbara Brown (Bill) of Morgan Hill, CA, and Sandy Federico (Vic) of Lodi, CA. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, and sisters-in-law.

His parents, three brothers and a sister precede him in death.

All who knew Alfred are left with many cherished memories and will remember him for being a great father, provider and having a fun-loving nature.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 26, 2011, at Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln in Lodi, CA, with interment immediately following.
