Andrew M. Artz died Thursday, Sept. 25 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. He was 42.

He lived in San Benito County for the last two years, moving here from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona.

He was employed at Pinnacles National Monument and was with the Parks Service for 15 years.

Artz attended the University of Nevada, Reno. He received awards from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

He is survived by his wife Wendy Artz of Paicines; son Jacob Artz of Morrison, Colo.; parents Jack and Mary Artz of Cool, Calif.; and his brothers and sister Neal Artz of Logan, Utah, Alan Artz of Sparks, Nev., and Melinda Artz of Helena, Mont.

Memorial Services will be Sunday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. at Pinnacles National Monument, Paicines.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.

Donations may be sent to Doctors Without Borders or The San Benito County Humane Society in care of Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 636 Seventh St., Hollister, Calif. 95023.
