Angel G. Guerra, a World War II veteran, passed away Saturday,
Feb. 5 at the age of 88 years.
Angel G. Guerra, a World War II veteran, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5 at the age of 88 years.

He was born in Pomona on March 19, 1916. He was married to the late Cornelia Guerra for over 50 years.

He leaves behind four children, Peggy and Jim Pappani of Hollister, Madeline and Charles Kronberg of Clovis, Yvonne Ehret of Hollister and Kellie and Gabe Guerra of Hollister; six grandchildren, Beth Pappani, Eddie Pappani, Stacy Andrade(and husband, Gino), Jay Ehret, Candace Guerra and Carlie Guerra; and two great grandchildren, Jay Schwall Andrade and Gigli Guerra Daley.

He was a member of Gilroy VFW Post 6309, The Knights of Columbus in Hollister and SIRS. For the past five years Mr. Guerra has been a resident at The William and Inez Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister.

Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 1 to 9pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister.

A Mass will be celebrated on Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister at 10am. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:30am for a procession to the church.

Interment and military rites will be on Monday, Feb. 14 at 10:30am at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Donations are preferred to The William and Inez Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility or The Alzheimer’s Association.
