Angelo Castro died March 15 at St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy. He was born in Hollister and was 63 years old.

He graduated from San Benito High School, was a lifetime resident of Hollister. He was employed by RMC Pacific Materials, a member of the Teamsters Union and Sacred Heart Church. He married his wife, Josefina, in 1982 in Hollister.

He is survived by his wife, Josefina Castro of Hollister; his children, Angelo and Sandy Castro Jr. of Fresno, Renee Jimenez of Hollister and Michael Jimenez of Hollister; his grandson, Daniel Paul “Gordo” Cavazos of Hollister; his brothers and sisters, Secundino Castro of Gilroy, Luis Castro of Los Angeles, Rosie Escalante of Ceres, Vivian Castro of Salinas, Susan Castro of Salinas and Edna Padilla of Merced. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends can pay their respects on Sunday, March 20 from noon until 9pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be held at 7pm. The Mass will be held on Monday, March 21 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:30am for a procession to the church.

Cremation will follow the Mass at Gavilan Hills Crematory with interment at Calvary Cemetery on Tuesday, March 22 at 1pm.
