Long-time Hollister resident Angelo T. Robba passed away in
Burlingame at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center on March 27 at the age
of 88 years.
Long-time Hollister resident Angelo T. Robba passed away in Burlingame at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center on March 27 at the age of 88 years.
Mr. Robba was a native of Davenport, who moved to the Fairview area of Hollister with his parents in 1922. Angelo was a graduate of San Benito High School and upon graduation went to work with his family raising apricots, walnuts and prunes on the family ranch in the Fairview area. During his farming career, Angelo was also a member of the Mayfair Packing Company located at Fallon and Fairview Roads. When he sold his ranch in 1976, Angelo continued with Mayfair Packing Company serving as their plant manager for 38 years.
Mr. Robba was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, a former member of the 20/30 Club, the Hollister Boosters and the San Benito County Farm Bureau. His interests included gardening, fishing, hunting, and especially dancing said his daughter Emilie. He and his first wife, Constance, who passed away in 1972; and his second wife Ethel, with whom he just celebrated 25 years of marriage on March 21, spent many happy times dancing together.
Angelo is survived by his wife Ethel of Lodi, where they just recently move to; his daughter Emilie Robba of Burlingame; step-son and step-daughter Michael Larson of Chandler, Ariz, and Sandra Schultz of Lodi. He was the grandfather of Gregory T. Robba of Burlingame; and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Joe and Felice Robba, and his sister Mary Bianchi.
Visitation will be held at the chapel of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home on Thursday March 31 from 4 to 7pm.
Family and friends will leave the mortuary on Friday morning at 10:30am to proceed to Sacred Heart Church at Fifth and College streets for a Mass of the Resurrection beginning at 11am.
Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Assn, the Visiting Nurses Assn or Spiritual Bouquets c/o the mortuary chapel.
