Former long-time Hollister resident
Former long-time Hollister resident Anna Mae Garratt died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 of cancer in Drain, Ore. She was 72.

Mrs. Garratt was born in Okmulgee, Okla. When she was about 8 years old she came to Hollister and lived here until moving to Oregon in January 1999 with her husband, Edward Stollery. She attended Ausaymas School, San Benito High School and Gavilan College.

She and her late husband, Clifford Garratt, owned a small restaurant in Hollister and a bar and grill in Tres Pinos. She became a real estate broker with Richard Hall Realty in Hollister and was later worked in the personnel and safety department at Teledyne McCormick Selph. She later became office manager for Stan Jones Trucking Co. and worked in personnel for Jessup Transportation in Gilroy. Before her retirement, she was assistant safety coordinator for another Gilroy trucking firm.

She was a retired Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, held all the chair positions in the local organization and traveled on its behalf. She enjoyed entertaining the wildlife near her home along Elk Creek in Drain.

She is survived by her husband; her sons, Philip Intravia Jr. of Drain and Ronald Garratt of Rogers, Ark.; her sisters, Alta Cobstill of Hollister, Mrs. Ray Stevenson of Schulter, Okla., Georgia Edmonds of Beaumont, Texas and Laverne Silvas of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

No services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Andreason’s Cremation and Burial Service in Eugene, Ore.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of Sacred Heart.
