Born November 6, 1914, in San Martin, CA, Ann passed peacefully on November 25, 2008, in Morgan Hill, CA. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, George Tykol, and her sister, Alice Cheadle; brother, Richard M. Howes, and brother-in-law, William Tykol. She also joins her daughter-in-law, Saundra Lee Tykol, who passed in September in Huricane “Ike”. Ann was a chicken rancher in San Martin along with her husband, George, for many years. She later worked at the San Martin Country Store as a bookkeeper and sales clerk. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend who touched many with her kindness, generosity and love. She gave her family strength and encouragement until the end of her 94 years. She is survived by her loving children, George R. Tykol of Huntsville, Texas and Marianne J. Sanchez of San Jose. Grandmother to Matthew Tykol and wife Paula of Arkansas, Hettie Stein and husband Robert of Texas, and Craig Sanchez of San Jose. Great-grandmother of Lacey and Evan Tu and Travis and Nathan Tykol. Also survived by brother, Robert C. Howes of Gilroy; sister, Eileen Minkwitz of New Jersey, sister-in-law, Dorothy Tykol of Morgan Hill, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her friends in the Windmill Mobile Home Estates. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anna’s memory to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
