Anne Angela Stambaugh died Tuesday morning at the age of 86 in
Gilroy at the St. Louise Regional Hospital. She was born in Oakland
and a long-time resident of Calistoga.
Anne Angela Stambaugh died Tuesday morning at the age of 86 in Gilroy at the St. Louise Regional Hospital. She was born in Oakland and a long-time resident of Calistoga.

Mrs. Stambaugh was a first generation Californian whose parents, Rose and Peter Bossetti, immigrated from Italy in the early 1900s. She worked 28 years for the Calistoga Unified School District and moved to Hollister eight years ago to be closer to her family.

She was the beloved mother of Sandra Stambaugh of Tres Pinos and Paul Stambaugh of Pope Valley. She is also survived by a grandson, John Tyler Stambaugh of St. Helena and numerous nieces and nephews.

She past member of Soroptimist International, Native Daughters of the Golden West and long-time volunteer and treasurer of the Sharpsteen Museum in Calistoga.  Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 9 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Inc. 990 Vintage Ave., St. Helena. Graveside services will follow at the St. Helena Cemetery. Contributions are preferred to Sharpsteen Museum in Calistoga.  Funeral arrangements in Hollister are under the direction of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral.
