Anne Winn, age 81, passed away on June 16, 2010, in Salinas, CA. Anne was born in Cambridge, MA on October 27, 1928, and lived in San Francisco. Her parents, Donald and Drucilla Isaacson were avid ranchers and had farms in Kansas, Colorado and eventually settled in San Juan Bautista, CA in 1952.

Anne interned with the National Weather Service in San Francisco while in college and was a park ranger in Australia. She worked in Hollister at McCormick Teledyne Selph and as an editor at the Free Lance Newspaper. She married in 1957 to John R. Winn, entrepreneur of Winn and Co. Insurance Brokers. They had two children. She later worked at San Benito Joint Union High School. She loved books, travel and was a devoted volunteer to the local library, historical societies and San Juan Bautista California State Park. She was a recipient of the California Golden Poppy Award for her 25+ years of volunteering.

She is survived by her two children, Donald Winn and wife Dianne of Hollister and Patty Dumas and husband Henry of Purcell, OK. Anne’s grandchildren are Sarah, Jacob, Aaron and John Isaac Dumas all of Purcell, OK.

A celebration of her life will be on Friday, June 25, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A reception will follow.

Donations may be made to the San Benito County Library, San Benito County Historical Society, the Arbor Society or the San Juan Bautista State Park in memory of Mrs. Winn
