Anne Gluhaich Ivancovich, born February 20, 1917, passed peacefully from this world surrounded by family on September 15, 2010, in Saratoga, CA. Loving daughter of Mary C. and John P. Gluhaich. Adored wife of Triffle P. Ivancovich of Cupertino for 68 years. Mother of John (Jan) Ivancovich of Hollister, CA, Betty (John) Colwell of Los Gatos, CA, William Ivancovich of Kenwood, CA, Mara (Thomas) Hutton, of Chappaqua, NY, and Christine (Alfredo) Jefferson of Hartsdale, NY. Grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 14 (and another expected).
Preceded in death by her parents and infant brothers, Petar and Lazar.
Born in San Jose, Anne grew up on an orchard farm on Moorpark Avenue and attended Burbank Elementary and Campbell High Schools. Upon marrying, she and her husband were orchardists in San Jose and Cupertino where they instilled the love for agriculture in their children. She was active in the Cub Scouts, 4-H Leadership, and P.T.A. She was a member of Cupertino Copa de Oro Club, Daughters of Rebecca Benevolent Society of Cupertino, and Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Saratoga.
Funeral services will be held at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 18870 Allendale Avenue, Saratoga, at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 18th, 2010, followed by the Burial Service at the Serbian Cemetery in Colma. Returning to St. Archangel Michael Church, a reception luncheon in her honor and memory will be held at 1:15 P.M.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dominic Chiong, and all of the good people at Saratoga Retirement Community who cared for her, and Dr. Ted Cohen and the loving people of Hospice of the Valley for support in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, Anne’s family suggests donations be sent to the building fund of St. Archangel Michael Church in Saratoga, or to Hospice of the Valley, Campbell, CA.
