Anne Sugishita, 86, of Morgan Hill, CA entered into eternal rest May 18, 2009. She was born April 20, 1923, in San Jose, CA, the daughter of the late Goro and Mime Tabata. She was one of six children and wife of Thomas Sugishita for 53 years until his passing in 1995. Anne graduated from Hollister High School in 1941 and in 1942 was interned to camp during World War II in Poston, AZ and Heart Mountain, WY, during which time she married Thomas and had their first child. After they were married, Anne and Tom returned to the family ranch in Coyote, CA whereupon they raised their three children and grew Santa Clara County Fair and California State Fair award-winning fruits and vegetables for their Garden Farm Fruit Stand until retiring to Morgan Hill in 1983.

Anne was a skilled gardener, floral arranger,

and accomplished artist in oil and watercolor

paintings. She was a member of Women In Touch, the

Coyote Grange, and also an Honorary Member of the

Flower Lovers Club of Morgan Hill. As her grandchildren will attest, she was a

masterful seamstress resulting in all their clothes and

blankets as children; and a fabulous cook, always

leaving them wanting for her macaroni salad and

homemade jams, cookies, and pies. She will truly be

missed amongst her neighbors for her homegrown

vegetables and flowers. Anne was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and

great-grandmother; appreciated by many and loved by

all.

Anne is survived by her brother James Tabata

of Minneapolis, MN and sister Eva Tabata of

Hollister, CA; sister-in-law Janet Tabata;

daughter Barbara and grandson Darius Sugishita Pazoki; son and daughter-in-law Harold and Eileen; son and daughter-in-law Tim and Kathy; granddaughter Claire Anne Sugishita-Wanner and husband Steven Wanner, Jr.; great-grandsons Hudson Sugishita Wanner and Everett Sugishita Wanner; grandson Thomas Flyer Sugishita and fiancee Jonea Boysen; grandson Kenneth Ward Sugishita; and several nieces and nephews.
