Anne Ward passed away at home in Morgan Hill at the age of 85. Her husband of 61 years, Paul Ward, and sons Ronald and Robert miss a loving mother and wife. During her final days, Anne received cards and visits from many to whom we express our gratitude for the support they provided to her and the family.

Born in Colorado, Anne Polich was raised in Richmond, California and was one of four daughters of parents who emigrated from Croatia. She and many of her friends and family worked in the East Bay in early jobs supporting WWII-era industries and healthcare. Anne graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1947, where she earned a degree in Social Welfare. It was there that she met and married Paul Ward of Morgan Hill. Anne and Paul raised their family in Berkeley and Eureka, California, before moving to Morgan Hill in 1973. Over the years she was a member of the American Association of University Women, Flower Lovers Club, and other organizations.

Anne’s immediate family, her sister Helen O’Drain, nieces/nephews (and their children) and friends will remember her kindness, her ability to offer encouragement, and her unconditional love.

Friends and family will be invited to a future celebration of Anne’s life.
