Annette Cota Scarlett passed away at the age of 44 on Nov. 30 in Sacramento. She was born November 16, 1960 in Hollister. Born and raised in Hollister, she moved to Sacramento in the early 1990s. She was a member of the Aztec dance group, Quetzalcoatl Citlali, and traveled all over California, Nevada, Arizona, and Mexico performing.

The daughter of the late Ricardo and Soledad Cota, she is survived by her daughters Jade, Dana, and Jasmyn; son Damian; grandson Xavier; son-in-law Fernando Catlin; sisters Mary Reyes of Sacramento, Hope Ramos of Washington, Josie Ruiz of Sacramento, and Angie Painter of Hollister; brothers Richard Cota of Gilroy, Jess Cota of Gilroy, Ralph Cota of Salinas, and John Cota of Salinas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Monday, Dec. 6, at 11am at the Morgan Jones Funeral Home in Sacramento.
