Former Hollister resident
Former Hollister resident Annie B. Parks died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 in Santa Barbara after a brief illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Parks was born in Statesville, N.C. and had lived most of her life in San Benito County. She was a housekeeper and caregiver for many local families. Her family said she devoted herself to assisting and caring for others.

She loved animals and according to her son she gave the name Jack to every dog she had in the last 50 years because she loved her uncle Jack so much.

She is survived by her sons, coach Ben Ray Parks and his wife, Geraldine, of Mountain View, and Edward Parks Jr. of Santa Barbara; her grandchildren, Ben Parks Jr. and Ronda-Jean Parks, both of Santa Clara, Ralph Parks of Fremont, Geri-Ann Aguilar of Sunnyvale and Angela Simpson of France; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Parks; her brother, Closell T. Davidson; and her sister, Jessie Davidson.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the YMCA of San Benito County in care of the funeral home.
