Hollister High chalked up its first Tri-County Athletic League victory in boys soccer Friday when the Balers posted a 4-1 dandy at North Salinas.

“We played a lot better,” said Baler coach Michael Warner. “We two-touched the ball better and our forwards did a better job of coming back on defense.”

Four different Balers scored. Brian Vargas scored in the 21st minute from Isidro Trujillo, who notched an unassisted goal of his own in the 45th minute.

Trujillo had his second assist of the day when he helped Jonathan Alouso in the 48th minute. Danny Laguna scored on an assist from Alfredo Arredondo in the 79th minute to wrap up the Balers’ scoring.

Jorge Medina played the whole match in goal for the Balers with an injured ankle.

Hollister hosts Salinas today at 3:30 p.m.
