The San Benito Boys varsity team lost 2-0 at Branham High on
Wednesday and dropped to 0-2 in the preseason.
The Balers JV team defeated Branham 3-2 to even its record at
1-1. Joel Aguilar scored on a break-away 9:30 into the game.
Although the Balers dominated the game, they had to wait until
the 37th minute to score again with a shot by Miguel Guzman off an
assist by Aguilar.

Although the Balers dominated the game, they had to wait until the 37th minute to score again with a shot by Miguel Guzman off an assist by Aguilar.

The Baler JV team took a 2-1 lead into the half.

The second half was more balanced with strong defense from both sides prevailing.

Branham was able to score with only 10 minutes remaining. It looked like the game would end with a draw.

But Aguilar slipped past Branham’s defenders and drove the tie breaker home with only 90 seconds remaining.

The strong play of Braulio Moreno and Alex Ceja helped hold Branham.
