The Hollister High softball team’s aluminum bats are warming up in time for the stretch run.

The Balers amassed enough hits and, more importantly, enough runs to defeat visiting Leland 6-0 in a non-league confrontation Thursday.

The six runs ties the most runs for one game by the Balers this season since they shut out Westmont 6-0 on March 13.

Jenny Maheu had three hits and scored a run to lead the Balers (17-8). Kim Dabo continued to heat up at the plate with a double and two runs batted in, which came in the Balers’ three-run first inning.

Rachelle Barrientos had an RBI single in that first, while Julie Broyer added a bunt single. Amy Baxter knocked in two runs with a double in the fifth.
