Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Barbara Ann Serpa died Sunday afternoon at the age of 70 at the Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Willits and came to San Benito County in 1949 in her Junior year at high school. Barbara also attended San Jose State College and Hartnell College. She worked as a legal secretary for over 15 years at O’Brien & Borelli law firm. Barbara had served on the North County School Board and worked on the Migrant Education Program.

Her survivors are her husband, Lloyd Serpa, of Hollister; daughters, Lisa Serpa of Klamath River; and Laurie Serpa of Hollister. She is the grandmother of Megan and Dana Serpa, both of Hollister; daughter-in-law of Isabell Prieto of Hollister. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in Northern California.

Memorial services will be Thursday morning, Dec. 9 at 11am in the Chapel of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home followed by Inurnment and graveside services at the IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Crematory in Hollister. Contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
