The San Benito Haybalers improved to 13-0 in the Tri-County Athletic League on Thursday when they took both games of a doubleheader against visiting Everett Alvarez by scores of 32-0 and 20-0.
The Eagles, who fall to 1-13 in the TCAL, did not record a hit in either ball game.
Game 1 of the doubleheader saw the Balers hit four home runs, including three in the 12-run second inning. Isaak Ramos and Ryan Sabattini hit back-to-back blasts in the second frame — Ramos’ was a two-run shot — while teammate Mark Hurley connected on a three-run homer later in the inning.
In the first inning, Darin Gillies hit a grand slam.
Ramos finished the game 2 of 2 with a double and four RBI, while Sabattini was 3 of 4 with a double. Trevor Fabing went 4 of 6 with a double, while Ricky Garcia was 3 of 4 with a double.
Atop the mound, Dustin Rovella (2IP, 0H, 0R, 1K, 2BB), Fabing (1IP, 0H, 0R, 2K, 1BB) and Cooper Sepulveda (2IP, 0H, 0R, 3K, 2BB) combined for a no-hit shutout.
In Game 2, pitchers Anthony Ocampo (4IP, 0H, 0R, 8K, 0BB, 0HBP) and Ricky Garcia (1IP, 0H, 0R, 2K, 0BB, 0HBP) combined for a perfect game.
Offensively, Spencer Brann went 3 of 4 with a double, a two-run homer and four RBI, Nick Acosta went 3 of 4 with two doubles, Justin Schlie went 4 of 4 with two doubles and four RBI, and Dustin Rovella went 3 of 4 with two doubles.
Everett Alvarez had only nine players.
San Benito, which is now 17-4 overall, will visit Salinas on Friday at 4 p.m.
