in the last several years, special interests have been using
recalls to try to overturn legitimate elections.

The recall provision in the California constitution was a progressive idea at the time the constitution was written. However, in the last several years, special interests have been using recalls to try to overturn legitimate elections.

We should remember that allegations are worth nothing unless proven in a court of law and if we continue to abuse this process, public opinion may turn against it and we could end up without it.
