Simon Salinas’ 95.38 percent unfavorable votes per the Howard
Jarvis Taxpayers Association (Joseph Thompson’s letter April 20)
implies 4.62 percent favorable votes.
Dear Editor:

Simon Salinas’ 95.38 percent unfavorable votes per the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (Joseph Thompson’s letter April 20) implies 4.62 percent favorable votes.

That could be misleading.

The California Republican Assembly scorecard rated Simon Salinas at 3 percent favorable. He achieved this value by not voting on one bill in the scorecard, thus receiving credit.

If the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association has a similar system, the only “good” votes cast by Simon Salinas were when he was absent and did not vote at all.

The CRA rated Jeff Denham 100 percent.
