Beatrice Mize, 86, a long time resident, loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday after an extended illness in Coarsegold, CA.

Beatrice was born September 21, 1923 in Hollister. She resided in San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, then spent many years at various military locations with her husband, Harvey Glenn Mize.

When her husband retired from the military in the early 1970s, the family returned to Hollister. He worked for many years for the Hollister Free Lance. Together they operated a poodle boarding and grooming business for a number years on Wright Road in Hollister. Mrs. Mize recently moved from Hollister to live with family members in Prunedale and most recently to Coarsegold.

She is survived by one sister, Inez Lakey of Redwood City, one brother, Eddie Sanchez of Elk Grove; three daughters, Joann Smith, Pamela Swetnam and Andrea Bassetti; four grandsons, Robert Smith, Brian , Scott and David MacDonald, six great-grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Two grandsons, she especially loved, Ray Smith and Michael Mize both of Hollister are deceased.

She will be sorely missed by her friends and family members. Donations to the Hinds Hospice, 1616 W. Shaw, Suite C-1, Fresno, CA93711 in memory of Beatrice Mize would be greatly appreciated.

Graveside services will be held at San Juan District Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16th.
