Beatta Stanard DePedro Laschanzky died Monday, May 26, 2003 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. She was 94.

Mrs. Laschanzky was born in Grafton, Neb. and had lived in Hollister since 1992. She and her husband Lloyd DePedro and their children made their first home in San Francisco and moved to San Mateo during World War II. After her husband’s death in 1949, she moved to Santa Cruz County, where she worked for Bowman and Forgey Stationery for 35 years. After her retirement she married Harvey Laschanzky and they moved to Corona, then to Santa Rosa for a short time before settling in Hollister to be nearer to family.

Mrs. Laschanzky is survived by her children and their spouses, Flora Robles and Fred Stack of Paso Robles, Verna and Don Terry of Santa Clara, Lloyd and Sue DePedro of Aptos and Donald and Vickie DePedro of Grass Valley; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Laschanzky, in 1997.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31 at 11:15 a.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with private interment at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.

A reception at Mrs. Laschanzky’s home, 681 Niel Drive, will follow the services.

Memorials are preferred to the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation or the American Kidney Society, in care of the funeral home.
