Members of The Creak perform on the main stage Friday during the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at Bolado Park.

The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will come to the tree-filled, shady campground at Bolado Park on Aug. 8 to Aug. 10.
This year, 45 bands will take to three stages to play for an estimated 1,000 people over the course of the multi-day event.
Bluegrass music is produced with guitars, mandolins, banjos, fiddles and base fiddles and has ties to the southeastern side of the country with roots in states such as Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.
Bands will serenade the crowds from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Visitors choosing to camp at the festival will have the opportunity to join other bluegrass musicians in “pickin’ ” or “jamming” out the lines of their favorite songs in the park’s camping area for hours after the music stops on the stages.
This is the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival’s 21st annual festival. The event is run by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
Tickets can be purchased at the festival for $47 Saturday and $37 Friday or Sunday. For more information, go to the event website at scbs.org or call (408) 241-5920, (650) 596-9332 or (831) 336-2185.
