A body was discovered today on farmland along Buena Vista Road with unconfirmed reports that it is missing Hollister resident Ralph Santos.
San Benito County Sheriff’s Department officers arrived on the scene at 1620 Buena Vista Road in Hollister at about 11 a.m. today. Officers confirmed the discovery of a body.
Sgt. Wes Walker said the body was discovered by “people who farmed the property.”
Walker would not speculate on the identity of the body pending notification of the person’s family.
About seven law enforcement officers responded to the report and began investigating the scene.
“We will be here for hours and hours,” Walker said.
Santos, 73, was reported missing June 10 when he failed to pick up his granddaughter from school.
Police and family members have combined to search for Santos.
A witness told the Free Lance that officials on the scene said it was the body of Santos.
