HOLLISTER – Gosia Pellarin, the co-founder of Diamond Way Buddhist Centers USA and a co-editor of “Buddhism Today” magazine, will speak at the San Benito County Free Library’s Barbara Memorial Room Dec. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. about meditation. She has 30 years experience and studied under the guidance of Lama Ole Nydahl. Free meditation will be hosted on Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the library. St. Luke’s bible school

HOLLISTER – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host a Christmas Vacation Bible School Dec. 17-19, from 10 a.m. to noon, at 720 Monterey St., in Hollister. It will be a chance for children ages 3-12 to discover the true meaning of Christmas as well as get ready for the holiday with fun crafts, games and songs. Visions of San Juan

SAN JUAN – San Juan merchants will be hosting an open house Dec. 15, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with some offering specials and sales as part of “A Holiday Stroll Through Time.” At 5 p.m., visitors can gather in the San Juan State Historic Park on Third Street, for the Twilight Tree Lighting. A Stroll tour map and program will be provided at the tree lighting.

Winter Solstice at Mission

SAN JUAN – The San Juan Bautista Mission will be open to the public at sunrise, around 6 a.m., for the winter solstice on Dec. 21. During this one day a year, the sunrise light comes into the church in a line through the altar, aisle and tabernacle.
