San Benito Babe Ruth will conduct sign-ups for Senior Babe Ruth (16- to 18-year-olds) from March 23-27 at Veterans Memorial Park in Hollister.
Sign-ups held between Tuesday, March 23 and Friday, March 26, will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Vets Park, while sign-ups held on Saturday, March 27 will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Senior Babe Ruth games will begin in late April.

Hoops academy to have grand opening on Saturday
Triple Threat Academy, which offers year-round skills development training for youth basketball players, will have its grand opening in San Jose on Saturday at 24 Hour Fitness, located at 1610 Crane Street in San Jose.
There will be three sessions for players. Players ages 4 to 7 will attend from 10 to 11 a.m.; players 8 to 12 will attend from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and players 13 and up will attend from 12 to 1 p.m.
Space is limited. Triple Threat Academy teaches life skills and promotes higher education. Of the 10,000 participants over the last eight years, 300 have went on to play in college, and two are currently playing in the NBA.

Free dance classes held on Wednesdays
Free dance classes will be conducted every Wednesday and Friday at the Bulldog Boxing Gym in Hollister.
Taught by Anthony De La Certa of JJ’s Dance Studio in Hollister, the classes are aimed at boys and girls, ages 9- to 14-years-old. Lessons may include break dancing, club and salsa, among other styles.
The classes are free, and will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Dirty Gears MTB XC Series continues in June
South Valley Endurance will continue with its 2010 mountain bike race series at Harvey Bear Ranch County Park on June 5.
The newly titled series, Dirty Gears MTB XC, consists of four races open to all levels of mountain bikers. The inaugural race took place at Fort Ord State Park in Salinas on Feb. 21.
The series points will be tracked, giving riders the opportunity to either receive a unique handcrafted award, or just enjoy local trails and collect some prizes.
The series continues its final race at Wilder Ranch State Park on July 17.

Mountain Bike Series 2010 continues
The Winter XC Mountain Bike Series 2010, presented by SBRacing.org, will continue with two more rounds scheduled for Gilroy (March 27) and San Jose (April 3).
The March 27 race will be held at Henry Coe State Park, with fire road/single track climbs leading to a single track downhill. Enter at Hunting Hollow.
Entry fee is $35 per round, and races begin at 10 a.m. On-site registration will run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. It is USA Cycling sanctioned, and helmets are required while riding.
Races will be broken into men’s and women’s classes, as well as beginner, sport and expert divisions.
