Child Care provider recognition: Child care providers are being honored at a special dinner event on Thursday, May 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at San Juan Oaks Golf Club, Highway 156 at Union Road. Registration is from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Bill Michaelis, professor at San Francisco State University and director of Children Together, an international leadership training organization. Admission is free for licensed child care providers and $10 for guests.

STATE ART FAIR: The California Exposition & State Fair is now excepting entries for California Fine Art, one of the largest and oldest art competitions in the state.
