Sheriff Meeting: The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2004 in the County Administration Building for the purpose of public input regarding the Off Highway Motor Vehicle Grant Application to the State of California Department of Parks. Child Care provider recognition: Child care providers are being honored at a special dinner event on Thursday, May 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at San Juan Oaks Golf Club, Highway 156 at Union Road. Registration is from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Bill Michaelis, professor at San Francisco State University and director of Children Together, an international leadership training organization. Admission is free for licensed child care providers and $10 for guests.

STATE ART FAIR: The California Exposition & State Fair is now excepting entries for California Fine Art, one of the largest and oldest art competitions in the state. The California State Fair and special donor organizations offer more than $15,000 in award money. Award amounts range from $40 to $500.
