A 75-acre wildfire that was consuming large swaths of vegetation by Bullhead Reservoir southeast of Henry Coe Park has been contained, according to Calfire officials.
Only one heat-related injury suffered by a firefighter was reported during the fire, first reported at 12:10 p.m. It was contained about 4:15 p.m., according to George Hoyt, a spokesperson for Calfire.
No structures were damaged. Cause of the fire is still under investigation and all air tankers have been recalled, Hoyt added.
“We got a lot of help on this fire immediately and that helped us contain it in a short period of time,” Hoyt said. Two air tankers, one air attack plane, three bulldozers, five engines and three fire chiefs were on scene after the fire erupted, according to Calfire spokesperson Chris Morgan. He estimated there were about 100 firefighters attacking the moving inferno.
The fire was said to be threatening two or three structures, Morgan said.
A Calfire hand crew working on a project at Loma Prieta peak, to the west of Morgan Hill, spotted the fire, Morgan said.
