The Betabel Station Outdoor Market is set to open April 24 at 9644 Betabel Road off of Highway 101 near San Juan Bautista.

The new business, approved by the San Benito County Planning Commission in June, is slated to include 160 vendors on 10 acres.

The owners Robert Postigo and Frank Paura plan to have a farmers market; arts and crafts; petting zoo; kids area; barbecue area; beer garden; and special events such as car shows, kiddie carnivals, an RV showcase, local bands and other entertainment.

A free parking area will be located on five acres of lawn and the market is set to have a state-of-the-art drip and sprinkler irrigation system with lush landscaping around the park, according to the business. It is one of the first all-green turf markets in California, according to the business.

The market is scheduled to be open April through October, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $2 per person Saturdays and $3 per person Sundays, while children under 36 inches are admitted free of charge.
