If outsiders weren’t clear on how to get to downtown Hollister, they should be now.

The Hollister Downtown Association for the past couple of years has been pushing for a sign directing traffic toward the city’s core, where many merchants do business, and had it placed Friday along Hwy. 25 between Wright and San Felipe roads.

The city of Hollister did the work for a “few hundred dollars” and the HDA paid for the cost, said Brenda Weatherly, HDA executive director. She noted how drivers might otherwise continue along the bypass toward the other side of the city.

Weatherly also mentioned how Jason Guerra was “instrumental” as a volunteer in designing the sign and gaining the necessary permits.
