Candelaria Gamboa was born in Mexico on April 14, 1944 and migrated to California with her late husband Ignacio in 1964. She was devoted to her family and a homemaker for 40 plus years. She worked seasonally for Tri-Valley Growers; San Benito Foods and performed other agricultural work. She battled cancer for two years and never once complained.

She was a devout Catholic who diligently prayed the Rosary. She loved to cook, sew, knit, watch novellas, and spend time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her eight children, Julio (Teresa) Gamboa of Morgan Hill, Mario Gamboa of Los Angeles, Yolanda Gamboa of Hollister, Sofia (John) Jordan of Hollister, Veronica Arellano of Hollister, Joseph Gamboa of San Jose, Sandra Gamboa of Hollister, Miguel Gamboa of San Jose and nine grandchildren Ximena, Cesar, Esteban, Andres, Anastasia, Samantha, Sofia, Adam and Abel. She was loved by many and will truly be missed.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31st, 2010, from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Grunnagle Funeral Home Chapel 870 San Benito St., Hollister thence to Sacred Heart Church 5th & College Streets, for the recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Family and friends will leave the mortuary Wednesday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass of The Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
