Carroll H. Greathead died in San Jose on Sunday, Nov. 2. He was 80.

He was a native of San Jose, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, an orchardist for 54 years in Hollister and San Jose and a 50-year member of the Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Claudia J. Greathead; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Don Gay; brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Janet Greathead; sister-in-law Marie Greathead; nieces and nephews Denis and Joann Greathead, Nancy Borino, David Brader, Sandra and Chuck Hilliam and David Woodring; and great-niece and great-nephews Jason Greathead, and Joey and Solace Hillam.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 24 N. Fifth Street in San Jose.

Friends may visit Friday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home, 300 Curtner Ave. in San Jose.

Private entombment at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
