In reply to the Oct. 28 letter to the editor: I’m saddened that
you misunderstood my concern for your child’s safety and turned
this into an issue about you and your anger.
I waited for you to return to your child before leaving. I did
not call the police until you stepped away from the running
vehicle, pressing the key lock and leaving your child unattended
once again before I could even drive away from the post office.
In reply to the Oct. 28 letter to the editor: I’m saddened that you misunderstood my concern for your child’s safety and turned this into an issue about you and your anger.
I waited for you to return to your child before leaving. I did not call the police until you stepped away from the running vehicle, pressing the key lock and leaving your child unattended once again before I could even drive away from the post office. I am surprised that as a “careful” mom, you did not notice me looking in the passenger window to check on your child’s safety or stopping behind your vehicle to get the license number and other information.
I hope this embarrassing situation brings you to focus on your child and thrive on educating yourself on safety issues so that you may never have to learn any simple lessons through a tragedy.
I pray that you love your child enough to visit the Web site www.kidsincars.org and educate yourself on the dangers of your actions. Please review the law section “Kaitlyn’s Law” in the California Vehicle Code Sections 15620,15630 and 15632.
