Christina R. Gutierrez passed away at home at the age of 66 surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Hollister and lived here almost all of her life and was a graduate of San Benito High School. She married her husband, Asael, in 1962 in Gilroy. She was a past member of Sacred Heart Church and a past member of LULAC and the Mexican American Committee for Education. She liked doing artwork, gardening and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Asael Gutierrez of Hollister, her children and their spouses, Yolanda and Juan Beltran of Hollister and Ruben and Gloria Gutierrez of Hollister, her brothers and sisters, Cecilia Sanchez of Hollister, Ray Ruiz of Colorado Springs, CO, Avelina Enriquez of Salinas, Rudy Ruiz of Hollister, Patricia Salgado of Gilroy and Alice DeNorris of Hollister. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paulina and Malinda Beltran and Marissa and Giselle Gutierrez. She is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Rodriguez and her parents, Arcadio and Rosa Ruiz.

Friends can pay their respects on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Mass will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. for a procession to the church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to Hospice or Jovenes de Antano.
