Kindred spirit, Christy, left our world for a happier one on December 24, 2006. Never a thought for herself, she worried most about the feelings of her family and friends and the many others that are suffering from cancer.

She was born in Hollister, December 23, 1955 and was raised in the country near Tres Pinos. She was on a horse early in life and longed for the days she would ride again. Her mother raised her to care for and be an inspiration to others, and through her education at Cal Poly and affiliation with the Lindamood-Bell Learning Centers, she perfected her skills to those ends.

She was an accomplished water colorist and had two paintings made into exclusive prints that she gave away more than she sold. Christy and her aunt, Nanci Bell, recently co-authored a reading program for children titled “Talkies” that will help so many.

She was an artist, author, dancer, decorator, gardener, humorist, retailer, teacher, mother, wife and friend who touched so, so many in such a short time.

Her father, Bill, who passed in 1986, is very, very proud and happy to see her again.

Survivors: Mother Dolores “Dot” Renz; husband of 29 years, Dave; daughter Taylor of Salinas; sons Connor and Brenen of San Luis Obispo; brothers Bill (Toni Jane) and Jere (Nancy) of Hollister; and her loving sister Anne (David) Johnson of Salinas.

Services: A gathering of friends and relatives is tentatively scheduled for the spring 2007.
