Clair Cagney Berglin died last night at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Recently she celebrated her 80th birthday with her twin brother, children and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Berglin in 1989.

Claire was a member of Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church, and was raised and educated in San Juan Bautista and Hollister. She graduated from San Benito College with an Associate in Arts Degree and then went on to college at Notre Dame for two years.

She was married to Bill Bergler for 37 years and was mother to two daughters; Mary Makler and Martha Santana, was the grandmother of three grandchildren, Tara Sutherland, Alan Santana and Eddie Santana; and great-grandmother to Joshawa George Mendoza.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Healey Mortuary. The funeral mass will be on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church located at: 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas. Burial to take place at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Salinas, CA.
