Former Hollister resident
Former Hollister resident Clara Gordon Rapp died Saturday, April 5, 2003 in Winterville, N.C. She was 90.

Mrs. Rapp was born in Omaha, Neb. She married R.W. “Bill” Rapp in 1937 and the couple lived in Bloomington, Minn. for 30 years, where she actively served on church committees and garden clubs. After retirement, the couple moved to Hollister, where they were members of the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Rapp was a horticulturist by nature and participated in many flower shows and later served as a judge. She also tended to flowers for church events.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Rapp; and her niece, Mary Alice Cerniway, both of Winterville, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Greenville, N.C.
