Claudia M. Cortez died on Dec. 10th in Salinas at the age of

She was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and moved to Hollister
from Texas in 1970.

She was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and moved to Hollister from Texas in 1970. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, United Farm Workers and Teamesters Union.

She is survived by her children, Guadalupe Cortez (son) of Sarasota, Fla., Rosa Ledesma of Hollister, Caroline Cortez of Gilroy, Joe Cortez of Gilroy, Rosanna Charles of Oakdale, Marcelino Cortez Jr of Hollister, Angelica Arvizu of Hollister, Andrea Rodriguez of Hollister, Gabriel Cortez of Gilroy and Elisa Cortez of Merced; and 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers.

Friends can pay their respects on Tuesday from noon until 9pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

The Rosary and vigil will be at 7pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Mass will be on Wednesday at 10am at Sacred Heart Church. Friends may gather at the funeral home at 9:30am for a procession to the church.

Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery

Ervin “Bud” Grimsley

Services have been held for Ervin “Bud” Grimsley who died Dec. 5th at the age of 88. The services were on Friday at the IOOF Cemetery with Rev. John Amelio of Glad Tidings Church officiating. Pallbearers were Aaron Grimsley, Steve Grimsley, Mark Grimsley, Ted Grimsley, Manuel Teves and Ty Molter.
