Cleva J. Harlan passed away at her Hollister home at the age of 98. She was born in Rogers, Arkansas and lived in Hollister since 1941 coming here from Santa Maria, CA. She loved being a farmer’s wife, taking care of her children and her home. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harlan who died in 1964.

She is survived by her son, Grant Harlan of Carmel and her daughter and her husband, Gayla and Al Mendonsa of Hollister, her brothers and sister, Walter Fine of Hollister, Eunice Pio of Hollister, Howard Fine of Tulsa, OK and Denver Fine of Filer, ID. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Audra Bourdet, Joshua (Melissa) Mendonsa, Jacob (Sara) Mendonsa, Amber Mendonsa and Nicole Harlan and her great grandchildren, Garrett Bourdet, Tucker Bourdet, Ella Mendonsa, Lilly Mendonsa and Brody Mendonsa. She is preceded in death by her two grandsons, Robert Grant Harlan and Grant L. Harlan and her siblings, William Fine, Vivian Kaiser, Hall Fine, Wesley Fine, Woodrow Fine and Meda Rogers.

Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pastor John Amelio of Glad Tidings Church will officiate.

Donations are preferred to Hospice, The American Cancer Society or The Muscular Dystrophy Association c/o the funeral home.
