Connie Ortiz, age 65, passed away at her home Wednesday, July 18th, with her loving family at her side.

A native of Lansing, Michigan, Connie has resided in San Benito for 40 years. Connie received her Bachelor’s Degree in education, taught briefly at Cienega School, was a homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. She participated in many local community organizations throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband Juventino Ortiz of Hollister, her three daughters and their husbands; Cristina and James Martinez, Catalina and Dennis Lemos, both of Hollister and Carina and Rob Freeman of Placerville. Her son, Juventino Ortiz, Jr. passed away February 1970. She is the sister of Larry Taylor of Anaheim and grandmother of Kylan, Sydney and Zoe Martinez, Morgan, Sofia, and Laci Lemos, and Chase and Faith Freeman.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of the Resurrection and a celebration of Connie’s life on Monday, July 23rd at 10 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 5th & College Streets, Hollister.

Private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Shriner’s Hospital For Crippled Children, c/o the funeral home chapel.
